Our president and founder, Matt Bales, started the company as a homebuilder. Seeing the need for a highly specialized remodeling contractor in the market, Matt transitioned the company from home building to remodeling. With our vast knowledge and experience in both home building and remodeling, we surpass our competition at building residential additions, which is one of the many services we offer.
MATT BALES
Matt Bales received his degree in Marketing from Eastern Illinois University (67’), then dedicated 4 years in the US Navy. Coming from a family with a background in construction, M.E.B. was a natural fit for his career. Matt started M.E.B. Construction Company in 1976 focusing on home building and remodeling. In the early 90’s he decided to concentrate on residential and small commercial remodeling.
Matt says, “With 4 children and 7 grandchildren, life is interesting.” He enjoys running marathons and yearly fishing trips. Matt is also involved with St. Vincent de Paul Society and with the Boy Scouts for over 30 years.
GRANT BALES
Grant Bales received his degree in Marketing from Eastern Illinois University (01’). He started with M.E.B. Construction Company when he was 13 (labor laws were not enforced) and went into the business full time right out of college.
Grant has 2 daughters, and enjoys camping and fishing.
